iPhone13 mini, iPhone13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max: here are all the features and prices of each model in the iPhone 2021 range.
Finally, Apple has presented the new range of iPhone 13 smartphones, confirming most rumors circulated in recent weeks. The new models are an evolution of the previous iPhone 12 range. Compared to which they are aesthetically very similar, they are all IP68 certified. There is a lot of technology that goes down from the Pro models to the two basic models. Yes, because there are four iPhones: iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. As for the prices, we anticipate them immediately; there is good news.
The new iPhones revolve around the equally new 15 billion transistors Apple A15 Bionic chip, built by TSMC with 5nm technology and equipped with 6-core CPU (2 high-power, four high-efficiency) and 4-core GPU (which become five on the Pro models). Apple’s new SoCs integrate a revamped 16-core Neural Engine for artificial intelligence (most likely the same already seen on the M1 chip) and a new ISP for computational photography. The latter, the software processing of the photos allowed by high-powered hardware, is the great novelty of the iPhone 13 range, which, on all models,
It is now equipped with the so-called “Cinematic Mode” For videos: a depth map is also recorded along with the images to allow the user to change the focused subject in real-time, even in post-production, directly from the camera app. This technology is in addition to the optical stabilization at the sensor level. It is not at the lenses, already seen on the iPhone 12 Pro Max and now standard across the range.
iPhone 13 And iPhone 13 Mini: Features And Prices
The two entry models of the new iPhone 2021 range differ only in screen and battery size. iPhone 13 mini has a 5.5-inch screen, iPhone 13 has a 6.1-inch screen. In both cases, it is a Super Retina XDR OLED display with Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG and brightness from 800-1200 nits, but Apple does not declare the refresh rate. The notch, which houses the front camera and sensors, is 20% smaller than the iPhone 12.
On the other hand, there is no sensor for the fingerprints, initially hypothesized by the rumors: the unlocking occurs continuously and only via FaceID. The front camera is equipped with TrueDepth. The rear ones are now positioned diagonally: a wide one that receives 47% more light, with 1.7-micron pixels, f / 1.6 aperture and optical stabilizer on the sensor, and an ultrawide for panoramas and macros.
On the iPhone 13 and 13 mini, there is a new 5G modem. Still, the novelty is another: Apple has signed agreements with 200 telephone operators in 60 countries to optimize signal reception and speed. Behind these statements, most likely, is that now iPhones sold outside the US will also be able to use millimeter 5G in addition to Sub-6 GHz, which is slower but is the only one available on iPhones. 12 non-Americans.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini battery is bigger: Apple promises on the two models, respectively, two and a half hours and an hour and a half more autonomy than the previous iPhone 12 and 12 mini.
iPhone 13 will be in pre-order starting September 17, on sale from September 24, with starting prices identical to those of the previous generation, but with double the storage memory (now the minimum is 128 GB):
- iPhone 13 mini: 699 dollars (in Italy 839 euros)
- iPhone 13: $ 799 (939 euros in Italy)
iPhone13 Pro And iPhone13 Pro Max: Features And Prices
Even for the iPhone13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple followed last year’s pattern: iPhone 13 Pro measures 6.1 inches, iPhone13 Pro Max measures 6.7 inches. The screen, however, is not the same: again, the rumors have hit the spot because the two iPhone Pro 2021 have ProMotion technology; that is, they are OLED LTPO type and can vary the refresh from 10 Hz to 120 Hz, to everything. Battery life advantage. The screen has a maximum brightness of 1000-1200 nits.
A second more thing that the Pro models have is the enhanced GPU: 5 cores instead of 4, and Apple, in the presentation of the products, has pushed a lot on the potential of the new iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max as a gaming smartphone.
The rear cameras on the two flagship models of the iPhone 13 line of 2021 are three: a 77 mm 3X optical zoom (digitally reaches 6X), an ultra-wide one that acts as a macro (focus up to 2 cm ), and a wide f / 1.5. They all have Night Mode for night photos, and the camera app allows you to set custom photo styles, which can apply to any photo before taking it.
On the other hand, Apple describes the two top models as the best smartphones for photographers and video makers available today. And this is both for the Cinematic Mode, already seen on non-Pro models. The possibility of recording videos in 4K at 30 fps with the ProRes Raw mode (i.e., with the individual frames saved without any compression).
Even for the two Pro and Pro Max models, Apple has doubled the minimum storage space, leaving prices unchanged :
- iPhone 13 Pro $ 999 (€ 1,189 in Italy)
- iPhone 13 Pro Max $ 1,099 (€ 1,289 in Italy)
For the first time, a new memory size, the 1 TB one, and a new color, Sierra Blue, debuts on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. Like the two lower-end models, iPhone 1 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will also be available for pre-order on September 17 and available for purchase on September 24.
