In Sevastopol, from today, tourists will not be populated according to negative PCR tests for coronavirus. Now the hotels will accept only vaccinated or ill people. However, citizens can choose other places in Crimea, representatives of tour operators told Gazeta.Ru. 

At the same time, ATOR noted that they travel to Sevastopol more for excursions, and tourists have come and will continue to come. In Sevastopol, from July 16, it will not be possible to accommodate tourists in hotels with negative PCR tests for coronavirus.

It is due to the decree of the governor of the city Mikhail Razvozhaev, which came into force today. Tourists will be required to provide a certificate of vaccination or a certificate of the presence of antibodies to coronavirus, which must be issued no later than 30 days before check-in. 

From June 28 to July 31 in Sevastopol, the work of cafes, bars, canteens and other catering establishments from 23:00 to 08:00 was also prohibited. Takeaway work and delivery of orders are allowed. Enterprises located on the territory of transport infrastructure facilities can work at night.

In addition, it is no longer possible to sell food or non-food products, etc., on the territory of cinemas. According to the general director of the tour operator “Dolphin” Sergei Romashkin, compared to the beginning of July, the number of tourists this week will drop by about two times. Some tourists, however, managed to call in according to the old rules. Some tourists decided to go to Crimea because it is nearby. 

About 3% of the total volume of tourists who choose the Crimean destination go to Sevastopol, said Ilya Umansky, vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, general director of the Alean tour operator, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru. Therefore, this cannot have a significant impact on the overall picture, he added. “Traditionally, Sevastopol is more of an excursion destination than a beach one. 

From this point of view, by and large, he did not lose anything, tourists, as they came there on day excursions to visit Balaklava and Sevastopol itself, will continue to come,” Umansky said. The introduction of new restrictions in Sevastopol is unlikely to significantly affect the popularity of Crimea among vacationers this summer, says Elena Shelekhova, head of the press service for travel planning service OneTwoTrip.

“Tourists who do not want to provide a certificate of completion of a full course of vaccination or a certificate of the presence of antibodies to check into hotels will most likely simply choose alternative resorts of the peninsula for their holidays,” she told Gazeta.Ru. At the same time, OneTwoTrip does not note an increased number of applications for canceling flight bookings to Crimea.

“Moreover, the share of air orders, for example, to Simferopol in August increased by 12.5% compared to July, and the price of a one-way ticket decreased by almost 20% and amounted to 7,700 rubles,” added Elena Shelekhova. Aviasales told Gazeta.Ru that the demand for popular Russian destinations has grown compared to last week.
